Teenaged Layla travels from Trinidad to London to live with her mother. She’s swept off her feet by a gang leader, Troy, but in a world where being Troy’s girl buys both envy and status, her only true friend is Shaun, an outsider. When Troy discards her, Layla vows to win him back. Shaun becomes a pawn in her game, and the forces she has set in motion soon escalate out of control.
