Candy believes he is from another planet. When the spaceship in the sky begins to turn on, he decides it is time to return home. Following a series of freak incidents, Candy—after invoking the protection of Michael Jordan at a shrine to the basketball star—leaves his loving wife and embarks on a surreal journey that leads him through the post-apocalyptic Ethiopian landscape as he confronts witches, Santa Claus, second-generation Nazis and, finally, himself.
