Synopsis

In her work the controversial Jamaican artist Laura Facey explores the indescribable cruelty of slavery, but also the resilient nature of the human being. Loved and hated in equal parts in her country of origin, mainly because of the explicitness of her work, Facey stands out for her denunciation of the abuse of women and the way she uses her art as a form of therapy to overcome her own personal traumatic experiences.
