Michel Franco
Michel Franco was born in Mexico City in 1979. He is a director, screenwriter and producer. His filmography is highlighted in the films "Chronic" (nominated for the Palme d'Or and winner of Best Screenplay at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival) and "After Lucia" (winner of Best Film in Certain Regard, Cannes Festival 2012). As a producer, his work in the film "600 Miles" stands out (directed by Gabriel Ripstein and winner of Best Ópera Prima at the Berlin Festival 2015), as well as in the film "From There" (directed by Lorenzo Vigas, winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Festival 2015). His most recent film “April’s Daughters” was part of the 2017 Cannes International Festival and won the Judges Award, Un Certain Regard. Lucia Films is his production house. Michel was part of the judging committee at the 74th Venice International Film Festival, Biennale Cinema 2017.
