Asta, born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, moves to Los Angeles, USA to start a new life, but upon arriving there, she loses a bit of her own identity in the form of her swimming ability. Desperate, she turns to her sister for advice.

As a semi-nomad, Elenie had lived in several states in the US before moving to Los Angeles where she is currently based. She is interested in films that stretch the boundaries of contemporary narrative cinema, bringing the everyday into sublimity and the unfamiliar to everyday. Her first film, Goldfish was screened in 2015 at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival. When she’s not at the cinema, you can find her in an art museum or gallery. She is a graduate of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television MFA Film Directing/Production program.
